Every release since we started publishing them, with real dates. The same notes our own users see when they log in.

v2.18.0
New
  • Bring your clients over from eDoula. Export from eDoula, upload the file, match up the columns, and your whole client book comes across — names, contact details, due dates, addresses and birth records.
  • Bring your invoices across too. A second file lands as real invoices with their payment history, so your books come with you rather than starting from scratch.
  • Record how a pregnancy ended — live birth, stillbirth, miscarriage, or pregnancy ended. DoulaFlow no longer assumes every pregnancy finishes the same way.
  • Insights reports birth outcomes instead of counting every birth as a live birth.
Improved
  • The import shows you every column it is not bringing across, before you commit to it, so nothing disappears quietly. Keep your original export until you have had a look at what came over.
  • The import tells you which eDoula export to download. There are two, and the smaller one quietly leaves most of your data behind.
  • Give each client a package as you import her, with a “set all” option for when they are mostly the same.
  • Decide where your own status names land — whatever eDoula called them, including your leads.
  • The column-matching screen is readable now. Labels no longer sit on top of the boxes underneath them.
  • Your client’s email address is matched up automatically instead of by hand.
  • The birth-date field now says plainly that it means the baby’s birth date — an eDoula export carries two, and they are easy to mix up.
  • An imported payment shows its date as approximate — “on or around 19 Aug” — because the export does not record exactly when she paid. Your client is no longer shown a date that was never true.
Fixed
  • When a pregnancy ends in loss, her portal and her emails stop showing pregnancy milestones and congratulations.
  • Invoice numbering keeps working past your 999th invoice.
  • Invoice numbering no longer breaks if you have ever used a numbering format of your own.
  • Only an admin can start, change or cancel your practice’s subscription.
  • Connecting Google Calendar tells you honestly when it did not work, instead of reporting success.
  • A doula removed from your practice loses access to your clients straight away.

New
  • See your whole practice on one calendar. If you work with other doulas, flip on “Whole practice” to see everyone’s appointments and due dates at once, colour-coded by doula.
  • Pick a teammate as your backup. Another doula in your practice now shows up right in the list when you set a backup — no more typing her name and email in by hand.
  • Clients can tell you where they plan to give birth. The intake form now asks for the kind of place and the address, and if it’s home she can simply tick “same as my home address”.
Improved
  • A backup doula’s access now follows the pregnancy instead of running out on a fixed timer — so the link still works when labour actually starts, however far ahead you arranged the cover. You’ll see the exact date her access lasts until.
  • Archived clients no longer clutter the Team page when you’re assigning clients to doulas. They’re still counted if you remove a doula, so no one’s client is ever left without someone looking after her.
  • Reassigning a client now tells you first if she has an unpaid invoice or an active backup, so nothing gets lost in the handover.
Fixed
  • Add-ons are billed at the quantity you actually set. If a client has three of something, her invoice now says three — not one.
  • A backup doula’s birth notes merge with yours instead of replacing them. Anything she left blank keeps what you had already recorded.
  • Editing a client no longer disturbs her add-ons.
  • Archived clients no longer receive automated payment reminders.
  • Insights leaves archived clients out of your package and revenue figures, so the numbers reflect the clients you’re actually working with.
  • Onboarding a lead who already had a package no longer leaves her holding two.
  • The Team page quotes the seat price you’ll actually be charged when you add a doula.

  • Send a client a payment reminder yourself, right from an unpaid invoice — any time you like. DoulaFlow keeps a sensible gap between reminders so no one ever feels nagged.
Improved
  • Birth Details now handles twins and multiples: note how many babies arrived, each baby’s gender, and which birth this was for mom.
  • Record baby’s weight in pounds and ounces, with weight and length grouped together at the top of Birth Details — and gestational age now fills in for you.
  • Send a document you’ve already uploaded for a client’s signature — no need to upload it a second time.
  • Insights has a clearer “Getting paid” view: see what you’ve collected, what’s still owed, and what you haven’t invoiced yet — all in one glance.
  • When you add a seat for another doula, you’ll see the exact prorated charge before you confirm.

  • Fixed a rare hiccup that could stop a subscription from going through — starting and changing your plan is more reliable now.

  • A client’s full street address now lives on her profile — not just her city — and shows in her header, pulled right from her intake form, along with her birth location.
  • The Board view shows each client’s gestational age right on her card, so you can see how far along everyone is at a glance.
  • This “What’s New” popup now catches you up on every update since you last looked — not just the newest — and you can browse previous updates anytime.
Improved
  • A client’s Appointments tab is tidier: her package usage sits up top, past visits tuck away, and each visit reads at a glance.
  • The client portal has a warmer, more cohesive look — its icons now pick up the color theme your client chose.
  • Sort your client list by stage (Onboarding → Active → On Call, and so on), and flip the sort direction with one tap.
  • Gestational age is smarter — it caps at 43 weeks, freezes once you record a birth, and steps aside for postpartum and completed clients.
  • Appointment lengths now show in hours (like “1.5 hrs”) instead of minutes.
  • Your invoice and intake emails now carry your logo, and the invoice PDF uses your brand colors.
  • The intake form groups “Birth experiences” into clear sections, and each step starts at the top.
  • You now get a clear “Email sent” confirmation when you email an invoice or send an intake form.
  • The Insights page explains it fills in as you record Birth Details — so an empty view reads as “nothing entered yet,” not “broken.”
  • On your client’s portal home, her next appointment now sits right under the baby-size tracker, front and center.
Fixed
  • The “Set a backup doula” tip now points you to the right place instead of dropping you on the client list with nowhere to go.
  • In your client’s portal, a past appointment now reads “Past” instead of still showing as “Scheduled.”

  • Automations — set them once and DoulaFlow handles the busywork: automatically move a client to On Call as her due date nears, suggest a due date on new invoices, and email a payment reminder when an invoice goes unpaid. Each is optional, on its own toggle in Settings → Automations.
  • Line up a backup doula for a birth in a couple of taps — send her a packet (upcoming appointments, the documents you choose, and a form to record birth details) with no account needed on her end, and her notes come back to you to review and accept.
  • See at a glance which clients have a backup arranged — a life-ring icon shows on the client card, the client list, and her profile.
  • A friendly “Worth exploring” panel once you’re set up, pointing you to features you might have missed — dismiss anything that’s not for you.

  • Clearer empty screens that explain what to do next, and in-app help topics now match the exact page you’re on.

  • The New Invoice screen now works properly on a phone — no more cut-off buttons or totals.

  • The setup checklist now walks you through your practice basics first and checks off each step the moment you finish it.
  • When a client fills out their intake form, their answers now update their profile automatically.
  • New in-app help articles covering the new settings, sending an intake form, and inviting a client to the portal.
Fixed
  • The baby-size tracker in the client portal now shows accurate, cuter week-by-week comparisons.
  • The password-reset link now reliably prompts you to set a new password instead of just signing you in.
