Getting paid
Why wait until you're on call to get paid?
Set an invoice due at 36 weeks gestation, or a set number of days after you send it. Switch reminders on and DoulaFlow sends one for you when the balance falls due, with a pay link in it. One per invoice, not a drip. Anything beyond that is you deciding to send it. Whether the money is settled before you go on call is your decision. The asking doesn't have to be your job.
Due dates that speak gestation. "36 weeks" is a due date DoulaFlow understands. In a general-purpose CRM, that usually has to be recreated with custom fields or automation.
Packages and usage. Build your service packages, track what's been used per client.

Know what your practice is made of.
Half of it tells you what to change: what a birth really costs you in hours, what a client is worth, and how much of your book you have actually banked. The other half is the record of the work, and a general-purpose CRM has no field for it.
What a birth costs you. Average labor length, and your time with a client at the birth itself. Two different numbers, and most doulas have never seen either.
Money you haven't billed yet. Collected, invoiced and awaiting payment, and not yet invoiced. In a sentence: how much of your book you have actually banked.
The record. Births by month, hospital against home, delivery type, twins and multiples, and how many babies in total.

Work in a collective? Add a seat.
No separate team plan, no upgrade tier, no sales call. Two seats are $50/month ($500/year), and every seat after that is $8/month ($80/year). Each doula keeps her own services, prices and invoice numbering, and the collective shares one subscription. Assign her clients, take the seat off when the season changes, and you stay the admin.
Thirty of these exist, and the rate never goes up.
$19 a month, or $190 a year, locked to your account for as long as you
run a solo practice. Not a first month, not a first year. Once the thirty are claimed,
everyone after pays $29.
The one thing that ends it is a second doula. Adding a seat moves you to
Collective pricing, $50 a month for two, and the founding rate does not come back if you
remove that seat later. You keep the founding member badge either way, so the second seat
is worth taking deliberately rather than to try something out.
