Set a backup doula

Line up coverage for a birth — send a backup everything she needs in one email.

Arrange a backup for a client so someone can step in for the birth.

  1. Open the client's case view (click the client in your Clients list).
  2. Click the (more actions) button in the header and choose Set a backup.
  3. Pick a backup — a teammate in your practice (listed under In your practice), someone from your saved list, or add a new one (name + email). Saved backups are reusable across your clients; teammates always come from your current team, so there's nothing to save or keep up to date.
  4. Click Continue, then choose which of this client's documents to attach — the birth plan and anything else your backup might need. A size bar shows how much you've used.
  5. Click Send packet.

What your backup gets — one email with:

A teammate gets exactly the same email packet and birth-details link as an outside backup — choosing her here doesn't add the client to her Clients list.

The client needs a due date on file before you can send (it anchors the calendar). If it's missing, DoulaFlow asks you to add it first.

Once set, the backup's name shows with a life-ring icon on the client's card and in the sidebar, where you can Change or Remove it any time.

When your backup submits birth details, they land on the client's Birth Details tab for you to review and accept. Changing or removing a backup never disturbs what she's already sent.
